Probably one of the most famous Cadillac Eldorados of all time is the 1956 Eldorado Biarritz owned by Elvis Presley. This car was special ordered by the King himself and still exist today. It is currently and forever on display at Graceland. The car was indeed factory equipped with air conditioning but thats not all. We also learned that Elvis ordered this Eldorado with a full white leather interior. This was not a standard option. It was available by special order only. Elvis Presley's purple 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible. Special ordered by Elvis in the color white. In 1957 Elvis had the car custom painted purple. The story goes that he crushed some grapes on the fender and told the shop to match the color. Late in 1957, Elvis (unhappy with the car's unreliability) traded the car in on a new car. The car was quickly sold to Lena Moskovitz, an Elvis fan who also lived in Memphis. She kept the car until her death in 1974. In 1976 the car was auctioned off, having deteriorated to poor condition, for $975! The car was then restored and went on tour. Some time later, Graceland acquired it back-- where it is now on display.
