Photographed in Illinois garden
A afternoon shot of Dahlia ‘Strawberry Ice’ taken in my Illinois garden. Gorgeous strawberry pink and yellow blossoms take center stage in any garden. The flowers have an informal decorative form with slight curling at the edges of the petals. Dahlias are native to Mexico and South America, and hold their display in reserve for mid- to late summer and early fall. The genus offers incredible diversity of color and form. Dahlias are perennial but not cold hardy – tubers can overwinter in the ground in Zone 8 or warmer; in colder climates tubers can be dug after frost and easily stored indoors over winter. Please note – Dahlias should be planted outside once the danger of frost has passed and soil temperature has reached approximately 60°.
For me my passion for photography lies in it’s creativity abilities. I am inspired by being able to capture stunning sunsets and beautiful nature scenes thats what draws me everyday to have my camera in hand and find the beauty in everything. I think landscape photography was my first love but love the challenges of Macro photography, and Wildlife shots. Learning new techniques and new ways to use post-processing to enhance photography keep me learning and studying this fascinating Art of photography . Thank you for viewing!
